Trail Days - the Lakes Basin Cleanup SATURDAY!

Hello again trail friends! Just a friendly reminder… after two years of being postponed, the annual Lakes Basin Cleanup is back! Join us this Saturday, September 17 from 9 am to 1 pm, in coordination with the Great Sierra River Cleanup, for a fun day of stewardship on the Mammoth Lakes Trail System.

We’ll be meeting at the Horseshoe Lake parking lot at 9 am sharp. Work assignments will include litter removal and fishing line recycling. Bring your own lunch, seating if you’d like, and water bottle. When work ends, we’ll provide dessert and some fun giveaways.

As you may know, this summer we’ve been going big on cleaning up fishing line in our waterways with the introduction of our new Water Host program. In addition to our Trail Days “focus-on-fishing-line”, a scuba diving group called Clean Up The Lake will be joining us on Saturday to do underwater reconnaissance in preparation for further deep cleaning.

As always, volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Please dress for trail work. Walk, bike ride or carpool if you can. You can fill out your volunteer waiver online in advance here. Information is available on our event page. If you have questions you can always reach me via email at [email protected], and also stay connected by following us on Facebook and Instagram

Thanks to everyone for another great summer of Trail Days. We hope to see you for the grand finale, Saturday, September 17, at the Lakes Basin Cleanup!

Best,

JR
