Shady Rest Winter Trail Grooming has started for the season!
Thanks to the recent storms, the MLTS team has been able to get a portion of the Shady Rest Winter Trails groomed and ready for use. Please use caution as only some of the trails have been groomed. Old Shady Loop and a portion of the New Shady Loop are ready to go and were groomed at 4pm on Thursday 11/10/2022. Please plan and stage appropriately as the groomed trails currently do not connect to the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center. Trail users should be aware that winter signage maps have not yet been deployed.
The trails will be groomed for Nordic skiing/skating, walking, winter fat biking and snowshoeing as conditions allow. The rolling terrain is easily accessible from Town and perfect for most ability levels. This facility is maintained by the Mammoth Lakes Trail System through a Challenge Cost Share Agreement between the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Inyo National Forest with funding from Measure R's annual allocation to the Mammoth Lakes Trail System.
